Can an ex-employee edit the letter we issued?
They can edit their own copy of the PDF, as anyone can with any PDF — but it will not match. The verifier is shown our stored record, and the signature check fails if the details differ. That is the point: the copy in circulation stops being the source of truth.
Does the company checking it need an account?
No. Verification is free and open to anyone, with no login, no app and no fee. A credential is only useful if checking it is effortless.
Can we issue letters for everyone who has already left?
