Issuing one certificate is easy. Issuing twelve thousand the morning after a three-day conference, with attendees, speakers, and workshop leads all expecting something different, is a logistics problem. At a small event you can fix mistakes by hand. At conference scale you cannot. Get the data right first

- Reconcile your final attendance list against actual check-in or watch data, not just who registered.
- Add a column that marks each person's role, so the right template goes to the right person automatically.
- De-duplicate before you issue, not after.

Plan delivery as a batch event
Decide in advance when certificates go out and send them all at once. A single coordinated batch, ideally within a day or two of the closing session, looks professional and rides the wave of post-event enthusiasm. Trickling certificates out over a week invites a flood of 'where is mine?' emails.
